Mayon continues to spew 2-kilometer ash columns
Mayon Volcano is continuing to spew ash columns as high as 2 kilometers from its crater summit, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday. In their bulletin as of 7 a.m. had a total of 9 ash explosions observed for the past 24 hours and total of 38 volcanic earthquakes were also recorded.
The volcano’s seismic activity remained at “high level”. The bulletin added that the Phivolcs recorded 171 rock fall measures related to the detachment of lava fragments from the volcano’s upper angle.
Arum’s final offer rejected by Floyd camp
After American promoter Bob Arum’s”final counter offer” was quickly turned down by Mayweather’s chief adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, and negotiator, Richard Schaefer, anticipation of recovering the megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are slim.
Arum, which is the main man of Top Rank, had given the Mayweather camp until yesterday to decide on his final proposal regarding the blood tests issue, that both parties let the Nevada State Athletic Commission to make the final decision. Goma sees rival’s hand in disqualification case
Because of his will to serve people that he is running for congressional race in Ormoc, Leyte, Richard Gomez faces disqualification case filed by his rival Winnie Codilla, a scion of a powerful family in the province.
But Gomez, who is running under the Liberal Party, denied this, saying he’s been spending more time in Leyte, that is the home province of his wife, Lucy Torres-Gomez, than in Manila since 2007. The actor said Codilla just wants him eliminated from the congressional race because of his good performance in the surveys. He said Codilla is only running about 27-28 percent while he’s running 54 percent.”
Sylvia Sanchez gives birth to baby boy three days before Christmas
Character Actress Sylvia Sanchez (Josette Campo-Atayde in real life), gave birth last December 22 to a baby boy in Medical City at Ortigas. She went home two days after even if having Caesarian Section Delivery because she don’t want to be celebrating Christmas Eve in the hospital.
She had three other children namely Juan Carlos, 19 years old, Maria Sophia, 17, at Maria Angela, 7 with her businessman husband Art Atayde. She said she will need to work out before coming back in show business.
Kris and James: Together Again!
After the most talked about lover’s quarrel of Kris Aquino and James Yap, they are now in their honeymoon in Bangkok, to patch things up regarding the said issue. James texted, “Loving-loving na ulit kami”, which is also a very good sign that they are now okay.
James has been said left their house December 17 and came back to celebrate Noche Buena with the rest of the Aquinos. The LQ was because of lack of time of Kris because of her hectic schedule. But despite of it all, the “honeymoon” in Bangkok was a big help.
Another ‘jaw-dropping’ performance by Charice on ‘Singapore Idol’
Charice has delivered a “jaw-dropping” performance that earned her another standing ovation from hundreds of people on “Singapore Idol” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. She was invited to perform on its grand finale edition in which she belted out “I Have Nothing” and “I Will Always Love You.” by Whitney Houston.
The host of the talent show, Gurmit Singh, was amazed and said the “Singapore loves you.” Because of that Charice was very thankful and proud to say that she is from the Philippines, which also got another audience applause especially Filipinos.
Charice to come home on Valentine’s Day
Despite of her busy schedule, two years from now since she was launched to international fame by Ellen DeGeneres, Charice will be home on Valentine’s Day regardless that she has been shuttling between home and the US, making hay while the sun shines.
She will soon fly to the US again to fulfill more commitments but she’ll definitely be back in February next year to perform at a major Valentine’s Day concert entitled Ryan Cayabyab’s Charice in Concert on the 14th at the PICC Plenary Hall. It is also produced by Xclusive Hits & Events, Inc. The concert will feature as special guests Erik Santos, George Yang and Ogie Alcasid, together with the Ryan Cayabyab Singers in special production numbers. Ryan is the concert’s musical director.
Kris and James, LQ on Christmas Eve
A Funfare DPA reported that Kris Aquino and James Yap had an LQ (Lover’s Quarrel) on Christmas Eve, which also prompts James to leave home. The couple supposed to spend Christmas with the rest of the Aquinos at their old home on Times Street where Senator Noynoy Aquino, Presidentiable as well, is staying.
The couple was also accounted not in the visit, two days before Christmas, at the Memorial Park in Parañaque. It was the third time for the couple to have major problem as it seems.
